Nico ter Linden (1936–2018) Utrechtben, Nijmegenben és az Egyesült Államokban tanult teológiát. Saját televízióműsora és a Trouw országos napilapban külön rovata volt. Emellett tucatnyi könyvet írt. 1995-ben a De Keizerskroon Alapítvány megbízta, hogy főfoglalkozásban mondja el mai nyelven a Bibliát.
Az Az a hír járja című sorozat harmadik kötetében a szerző visszatér az Ótestamentumhoz, a Józsué, a Bírák, a Sámuel és a Királyok könyvét meséli el.
